Michael Longshore takes on the Bartender’s Challenge with Provincia Gin from Patagonia, Chile. 

This riff on the Aviation cocktail swaps in Reisetbauer Sloe Gin for crème de violette, making the drink less sweet, more tannic, and better suited to highlight the floral and herbal notes of the Provincia.

LOST HORIZON
2 oz Provincia Patagonia Gin
.25 oz Caffo Maraschino
1 tsp Hans Reisetbauer Sloeberry Sloe Gin
.75 oz fresh lemon juice
.5 oz Rhum J.M Sirop de Canne
1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters
 
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake, and double-strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a single Albero d’Oro Marasca Cherry.
