Skurnik Wines & Spirits is seeking a hospitality-minded Spirits Sales Specialist and Educator for our growing wholesale distribution business in New Jersey. The Skurnik Wines & Spirits office is located in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan, but the ideal candidate for the Spirits Specialist and Educator position must be willing to work full-time in their designated territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as spirits expert for our vast portfolio of craft spirits
  • Assist specialized team of Skurnik sales representatives in attaining spirits-related sales objectives
  • Menu and cocktail development
  • Support brands at trade events and tastings
  • Weekly in-store tastings
  • Market work
  • Support events with concept, promotion, and recruiting
  • Social media & blog post creation
  • Execute management plans to build and drive targeted brands
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Knowledge of alcohol production and spirits business
  • At least 2 years of sales or marketing experience
  • Strong communication skills, as well as public speaking
  • Prior brand ambassador experience preferred
  • Prior bartending or mixology experience preferred
  • Willingness to work full-time, non-traditional and late-night hours as required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SevenFifty, Navision, and/or Pocket Advantage a plus

Spirits Sales Manager – California

Skurnik Wines & Spirits is seeking a Spirits Sales Manager for our growing wholesale distribution business in California. We pride ourselves in the finest selection of fine wines and spirits, as well as the best service and hospitality in the wholesale market.  Founded in 1987 in New York, Skurnik’s reputation is built on 34 years of sales experience. We are celebrating 4 years of direct wholesale in California with plans to build on our established growth.

This dynamic role engages a Sales Manager to work with the Spirits Portfolio Manager and NYC headquartered team to plan, execute and manage all Spirits Sales initiatives in the California market. The Spirits Sales Manager will collaborate with our General Manager and California Sales Managers to develop strong market relationships, strategic sales initiatives and manage the working relationships between the Spirits Portfolio and the general Sales Team, as well as a dedicated team of Spirits Specialist and Educators.

  • Prior personnel management preferred
  • Prior management experience in retail or bar/restaurant industries preferred
  • Willingness to work full-time, non-traditional and late-night hours as required

CUSTOMER SERVICE, ‘SALES SUPPORT TEAM’ – CALIFORNIA

Skurnik Wines is looking for a service and hospitality minded candidate to join the Sales Support Team in our California operation. We distinguish ourselves as a distributor by our service to our sales team, customers and suppliers. Our Sales Support Team acts as an integral connection between the sales team and the administrative team through sales order entry, inventory and allocation responsibilities, sales reporting, and liaison operations departments.

We are seeking candidates with self-starting personalities, with the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and communicate effectively. With an expanding portfolio of wines, spirits and sake, our sales team is growing. Our Sales Support Team provides an excellent training and preparation for internal promotion into sales and operations positions.

QUALIFICATIONS
