"The 2011 Roero Riserva Renesio has aged impeccably. It™s a wine I did not taste on release but that I am very happy to check in on today. Black cherry, new leather, espresso and rose petal flesh out nicely. There™s a bit more oak influence in the 2011 than there is in the wines these days, along with the warm style of the year. The 2011 is still a young wine that will age for at least another decade, maybe more."

"Aromas of smoked black plums, campfire, sandalwood and oak spice waft from the glass. The generous and forward palate offers black cherry, leather, sweet tobacco with burnt sage. Structured with firm tannins, the wine can go even longer in the cellar. Drink now†2035. ‡ Jeff Porter"

"A host of dark cherries, smoke, tobacco, licorice and melted road tar hit the palate in the 2010 Roero Riserva Renesio, while firm tannins convey an impression of masculine intensity. Brooding and earthy, the 2010 is going to need at least a few years in bottle to soften, but it is impressive, even at this early stage."
