"Bright pale ruby with a garnet rim, this wine exhibits aromas of smashed violets, blood oranges, cinnamon and balsamic. The palate is soft and refined, full-bodied, with elegant tannins and lifted long acidity. Great tension. Drinkable now, but best from 2034."

"Plenty of lavender and violet aromas with plum undertones. Medium to full body with plenty of ripe tannins and a chewy finish. Shows polish and focus. Drink after 2027."

"Fermentation takes place in horizontal tanks at moderate temperature for 12-15 days, before ageing in large 25hl wooden barrels for 24 months. The austere nose shows restrained dark fruits, liquorice root, straw, and red currant freshness. It shows a soft attack then firm, extracted, fine-grained tannins; muscular and chewy and evident on the gums, but polished on the finish. A powerful wine that needs time."

"The 2021 Barolo Margheria is all class. Dark cherry, sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and blood orange endow the 2021 with tons of character. Powerful yet refined, the 2021 is one of the best versions of this wine I have tasted. Clean mineral notes extend the gorgeous, resonant finish."

"Elegant and expressive, this red reveals strawberry, cherry, rose, mineral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced and blossoms on the fruit-, mineral- and spice-infused aftertaste. Deceptive in the sense that this needs much more time to reach its peak. Best from 2029 through 2047."B.S."

"Taking on more mineral character, the 2019 Barolo Margheria lifts with crushed rocks, white pepper, and red cherry. It has a bit more linear drive with its spine of acidity and offers notes of blood orange, grenadine, and dried roses. It is refreshing with angular tannins and has a long finish. Hold 3-5 years and drink 2026-2046."

"A floral and restrained Barolo with fresh violets, red and black cherries and pomegranates on the nose. The attack is full-bodied with orange flavors, juicy acidity, chewy tannins and a polished finish. Best after 2026."

"Serralunga d,Alba. Mid ruby. Sour cherry with a pinch of gingerbread. Quite sweet and ripe yet supple on the palate and with plenty of ripe acidity to keep it going. Can probably age, but already approachable now. Great tannic bite adds contrast on the finish. (WS) 14.5%"
