"Cinnamon candy, rose bud and pomegranate aromas, with some herbal and peppery notes, introduce this super-juicy Barolo. Crisp and with a light frame of chalky tannins, it's a great clean style focused on freshness and elegance rather than power. It ferments in stainless steel tank but undergoes malolactic in oak, where it ages for 18 months."

"Orange peel, rose petals, sour cherries and balsamic on the nose, evolving to chocolate and hazelnuts. Creamy and inviting, with a full body, fine-grained tannins, and a tasty, nutty finish. Drink from 2025."

"Gallinotto is a subzone of Sottozone Berri at 380 m of elevation and with the oldest vines 35 years of age. A total of two weeks on the skins.Palish ruby. Gentle, sweet cherry and raspberry with a savoury, minerally undertow. Supple and gentle but with concentration, while maintaining elegance. Delicious, gripping tannins on the finish. (WS) "

"From the site of Conca, a small amphitheater where the Molinos own one-third of the vineyard, the 2019 Barolo Conca offers up pure aromas of red cherry, fresh balsamic herbs, and sweet flowers. The most concentrated of the wines in the range, it is still medium-bodied but has more richness throughout, as well as a more solar feel, with ripe wild raspberry, tea, and sweet tannins, though more grip. It leans toward the muscular side while retaining amazing purity and freshness throughout. If Luciani is the Burgundian equivalent of Chambolle Volnay, then Conca is the Gevrey-Chambertin."

"The 2019 Barolo Gallinotto is a very pretty wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. There's plenty of immediacy, but not quite the depth or complexity of the very best wines in the range. Succulent red cherry fruit, cedar, pipe tobacco, menthol and dried flowers linger."

"With fruit from the Berri Vineyard in La Morra, the Mauro Molino 2019 Barolo Gallinotto gives us a taste of a single-vineyard wine made outside the official MGA classification. The wine has a dustier personality with a bigger mineral presence that recalls limestone and crushed rock. That elegant note gives linearity and saying power to the wine, but it also serves to frame a core of wild berry and rose. This expression also shows a clear oak signature of spice or toasted cinnamon with drying tannins to follow. It offers the whole Nebbiolo package with hints of the extra intensity and firmness that define 2019. "

"Harmonious, this red sports cherry and raspberry flavors at the core, accented by eucalyptus, tobacco and mineral. Reveals a lean frame infused with assertive, grainy tannins. This will need a few years to integrate. Best from 2026 through 2042. ‡B.S."
