"Displaying a darker ruby color, the 2020 Barolo has a beautifully pure, ripe bouquet of cherry liqueur, candied roses, sweet sage, licorice candy, and sappy earth. Medium bodied, it's fresh and weightless on the palate while having good ripeness, ripe tannins, and a clean finish with a note of tea leaf. Fresh but not austere, it's approachable now and will do well over the next 8-10 years."

"The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2020 Barolo is a little shy or closed on first inspection. It shows dark fruit and spice with earthy root and licorice but ultimately lacks all of the fine detailing that you expect of Nebbiolo. This is a blend of fruit from Monforte d'Alba, Novello and a small part from La Morra. Production is 15,000 bottles."

"The 2020 Barolo is a classy, mid-weight wine. Dried herbs, leather, tobacco, incense, crushed flowers and dried fruit are all laced together in an understated, nuanced Barolo that is loaded with character and complexity."

"Mid ruby with orange tinges. Minerally, rich cherry fruit with salty hints. Polished ripe cherry fruit with a dollop of juicy acidity and grainy tannins. Ready now."

"The Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno 2019 Barolo shows a luminous ruby appearance and lean fruit weight. The bouquet follows up with crushed rose, dried cherry, licorice root and nectarine. I love the delicate, silky nature of the mouthfeel. This elegant wine has an accessible side, but it delivers a good value versus quality proposition. Some 10,000 bottles were released."

"Aromas of crushed mint, eucalyptus and rose come to the forefront along with whiffs of forest floor. Linear and youthfully austere, the rather lean palate still needs to unwind, offering sour cherry, blood orange and black tea alongside bracing tannins and firm acidity. Drink after 2029.
