"Wild strawberry jam with fruit leather and mixed spices waft from the glass, with flowers in the background. The soft palate is giving with red berries fruits, allspice, leather and supple tannins. ‡ Jeff Porter"

"Bright florals such as crushed roses and dried herbs with some gentle spices, too. The tannins are soft and the flavors run pretty ripe, with cherries and plum that lead to a nutty, ripe-tannin finish."

"The 2011 Roero Arneis Trinita is a little steelier than the Renesio and more understated, but just as beautiful. Bright white-fleshed fruit, flowers and wet stones are layered into this Chablis-like Roero. This is another striking, beautifully balanced wine from Malvira. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Malvira, one of the top estates in Roero, can usually be counted on for wines of distinction. This year™s set of new releases, however, is the most uneven I have ever tasted from the winery. The whites are strong, but all of the reds I tasted (including some that didn™t make it into this report) are disappointing to various degrees, especially considering the estate™s long track record."

"Intense aromas of dark-berried fruit, medicinal herbs and violets open the nose of this Roero Riserva. Mouthfilling with cherry preserves, sweet tea, leather and oak spice giving way to supple tannins with a powerful finish."

"Smoke, iron, tobacco, grilled herbs and expressive red stone fruits hit the palate in the 2010 Roero Riserva Trinit…. A spine of firm supporting tannin gives the wine much of its energy and vibrancy. The 2010 is going to need a few years to fully come together, but it shows significant promise. Trinit… is the most savory and also the most complete of the three 2010 Riservas. This is terrific showing from Malvir… and proprietor Roberto Damonte."

"The 2010 Roero Arneis Trinita is less overly fruity than the Renesio. Smoke, minerals, ash and white peaches are some of the flavors that flow from this intense Arneis. I especially like the energy and tension of the finish. This is a marvelous showing. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Malvira is one of Roero's most inspired producers. In particular readers should focus on the estate's Arneis and Roero bottlings."

"Savory on the nose with notes of medicinal herbs, licorice, clove, dried flowers and mixed dried fruits. The elegant palate shows dried blood oranges, cranberry and baking spice. Superfine tannins with oak spice define the finish. ‡ Jeff Porter"

"The 2009 Roero Arneis Trinita is simply beautiful. Smoke, wet stones, ash and white stone fruits are some of the notes that emerge from this flinty, mineral-driven Arneis. The wine turns a touch more generous with air, but remains taut, vibrant and beautifully focused through to the finish. In this vintage the Trinita reveals more freshness than the Renesio, despite having seen a brief spell in oak. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012. This is a beautiful set of new releases from Malvira, one of the leading producers in Roero."
