"The 2022 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Bionzo is one of the most elegant wines of the year. Rose petal, chalk, mint, graphite and lavender open first. Bright saline notes typical of Asti give the 2022 quite a bit of vibrancy, something that was hard to come by in 2022. This more restrained style is so appealing. The oak is better integrated here."

"The La Spinetta 2020 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Bionzo sees fruit from vineyards in Costigliole d'Asti. This wine has a stemmy, almost vegetal quality with lots of rosemary and thyme, green curry and black pepper folded within dark, full-bodied fruit. It shows an inky color with medium-plus concentration. Production is 9,000 bottles."
