"Vibrant, fresh nose of blood orange, dried cherry and earth notes. Plenty of structure and fruit concentration, with long, chewy acidity that™s well integrated with the fruit. Firm, dusty, muscular yet ripe tannins. Balanced in a powerful style. A wine that needs time to reach its maximum. Drink from 2029."

"Eucalyptus, sage and menthol aromas mingle with macerated cherry, blackberry and iron notes in this intense, powerful red. Picks up earth and echoes the wild underbrush elements as this plays out on the robust finish. Best from 2028 through 2045. 366 cases made, 125 cases imported."

"Pouring a bright red hue, the 2023 Barbaresco Ovello opens with a beautifully expressive nose of ripe cherries, pine, wildflowers, and refined alpine spice. On the palate, it™s medium-bodied and compact, with chiseled structure, linear drive, and very good balance carried by mouthwatering freshness. The tannins are firm but well-shaped, giving the wine energy without heaviness. This has the structure and clarity to evolve gracefully over time. I love it. Drink 2026-2040."

"Leather, camphor, underbrush and spice aromas shape the nose along with a whiff of wild rose. Ripe and juicy, the enveloping palate offers dried cherry, black tea, tobacco and a hint of almond liqueur set against tightly knit, fine-grained tannins. Drink 2026†2032."

"A wiry red, with cherry, strawberry, grass and mint flavors defined and backed by a spine of chewy tannins. Reveals licorice and tobacco elements as this turns pinched on the lingering finish. Be patient. Best from 2026 through 2042."
