"An elegant, lifted nose of roses enhanced by sweet violets, cherry pits, leafy lightness and a whiff of licorice. The attack is smooth with medium body and ripe, velvety tannins that are dustier on the chewy finish. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 Barbaresco pours a medium ruby color and shows a ripe, spicy, and savory aromatic profile. Notes of crushed wild strawberries, cracked pepper, clove, and fresh earth emerge on the nose. On the palate, it™s bright and refreshing, with snappy acidity, chalky tannins, and a saline, mouthwatering finish. This leans toward immediacy and charm rather than power and is already quite enjoyable. Drink 2026-2034."

"The 2022 Barbaresco is a fine entry-level offering from Giacosa. This perfumed, mid-weight Barbaresco is all charm. Crushed flowers, bright red fruit, blood orange, spice and mint open first. Silky, polished tannins give this pliant, alluring Barbaresco tons of character. A delight."

"Aromas of red berry, dog rose and citrus lead the nose on the 2022 Barbaresco from Carlo Giacosa. On the savory palate, rather vigorous acidity accopamanies juicy red cherry, cranberry, white pepper and green tea while taut, close-grained tannins provide structure."

"The enticingly fragrant 2021 classic Barbaresco from Carlo Giacosa has enticing scents of botanical herb, hay, dog rose, camphor and spice. It™s utterly delicious, with flavors of star anise, red cherry, cranberry and blood orange that race across the palate before a black tea finish. It™s well balanced, with taut, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. This is an estate that gets better every year. Abv: 14.5%"

"Cherry, earth and eucalyptus aromas and flavors herald this fleshy, succulent red. An undertone of mineral is there, too, as this builds to the solid, extended finish. Well-structured, with boysenberry and tobacco accents in the end. Best from 2028 through 2042. 250 cases made, 83 cases imported."

"Smoky woodland, balsamic and mineral characters dominate the nose which is all on the root aromas. Dried cherry fruit introduces a savoury, dense, vibrant palate, with large tannins which are sweet and ripe. Austere, grainy finish with a bit of sterness at the moment, yet a good, sweet liquorice aftertaste. The grapes for this Barbaresco 'village' wine come from a vineyard with southwest to southeast exposition. The wine ages in 20- to 45-hectolitre French oak barrels."

"The 2018 Barolo Bricco Boschis pours a deep ruby and has spiced and enveloping aromatics of cigar box, leather, pure red cherry, and turned earth. This medium-bodied red is approachable and graceful, with moderate tannins and good concentration in its notes of Earl Grey tea, blood orange, and raspberry liqueur. Drink 2024-2044."

"Hay, ripe wild berry and hints of coconut and toasted hazelnut shape the nose. Taut and linear, the palate is rather light on its feet, suggesting pomegranate, cranberry and coffee bean framed in taut tannins before a tangy orange zest finish. Drink 2025†2030."
