"The 2023 Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru includes 20% whole bunch and 20% new oak that just underwent pumpovers with no punching down—a very delicate extraction. This has a fragrant, quite floral bouquet with impressive transparency and detail, as iris and wilted rose petal infuse the red fruit. The palate is quite sweet on the entry and nicely poised, the fruit a little more confit compared to Clerget's other Volnays, with a dab of allspice on the finish. Very fine."
