"The 2023 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru is vinified with 50% whole bunch and the same percentage of new oak. This has a tight bouquet that needs more coaxing than the Sous la Chapelle, the oak perhaps needing more time to be subsumed. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, taut and vibrant with crunchy red fruit and a pretty, sorbet-fresh, lightly spiced finish. Another superb Volnay courtesy of Clerget."
