"The 2023 Volnay En Carelle Sous La Chapelle 1er Cru was fully destemmed and matured in 25% new oak. Thibaut put a little more lees in the barrel to protect the wine, giving this a slight reduction on the nose, but it does not disguise the intense raspberry and blackcurrant fruit with touches of orange blossom. The palate is medium-bodied, very harmonious and poised with fine and pliant tannins, ebullient red fruit and a touch of white pepper on the finish. Superb."
