"This red is supple and complex, walking a fine line between fruity and savory, youthful and mature. Cherry, plum, almond, iron, earth and tobacco notes pick up a hint of vanilla as this fades gracefully on the long, lively aftertaste. Prugnolo Gentile and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2035.ùB.S."

"A dark wine with an austere profile. Aromas of forest floor, black cherries, camphor and dried flowers. Medium-bodied, it shows a forthright structure with crisp acidity, chalky tannins and a tight finish that™s chewy and polished. Drink or hold."

"The 2021 Nobile di Montepulciano is a total pleasure on the nose, wafting up with a display of crushed blackberry, wild blueberry, autumnal spice and licorice aromas. This is juicy in style with crisp red and blue fruit tones that swirl across a stream of brisk acidity as nuances of lavender inform the close. The 2021 leaves a gentle tension and subtly grippy tannins that frame the experience quite well, finishing long yet fresh."

"Darkly alluring, the 2020 Nobile di Montepulciano lifts from the glass with rosemary and sage, complicating dried black cherries and hints of dark chocolate. This is pure elegance, soft and enveloping, flaunting its ripe vintage fruit with a core of zesty acidity that maintains fantastic balance. A coating of fine tannins tugs at the palate with youthful poise, and a tart cranberry concentration fades. This tremendous effort from the warm vintage should not be missed. That said, the production of Cantina Dei's Nobile was down by 50% due to the conditions of the year."

"With 61 hectares of vineyards divided between five separate plots, Dei crafts the estate Vino Nobile from their Ciarliana vineyard. Ten- to 20-year-old vines sit at an average of 300 metres on sandy clay soil. The nose opens leisurely with rose, brushwood, mint and lavender. Equally attractive, the palate shows more oak-led notes but these are polished and harmonise with the red cherry core. Powdery tannins are supple and gracious. A bright, generous, uncomplicated bottling."

"Supple and fluid, this red exudes cherry, loam, iron and eucalyptus flavors. Dusty tannins creep in as this evolves to the finish, where there's a lingering salty taste. Prugnolo Gentile and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2036. 10,000 cases made, 3,000 cases imported."

"A savory, traditional Vino Nobile here showing some old leather, bark, nutmeg and dried orange peel. Quite chewy on the palate with a medium to full body and a tightly held finish. A good reference here, but more fruit vibrancy and less rusticity could take it to the next level. Drink now."

"Wild herbs, black cherries and exotic spices create a wildly inviting bouquet as the 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano opens in the glass. This is undeniably silky and elegant on the palate. Fleshy red fruits are neatly framed by bright acids, as balsam and mocha notes form toward the close. The 2019 leaves a gentle staining of fine tannins to linger, along with a sour citrus hint that adds contrast. This is simply a pleasure today but has short-term cellaring potential."

"Dark, saturated and showing balanced intensity, the 2019 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero. This wine offers nicely ripened flavors with medium-rich concentration and velvety tannins. It carries more fruit weight than average, with sweet cherry and baked plum backed by medium-bright acidity. This comes from an ample production of 110,000 bottles."
