The tequilas of Destileria Cascahuín hardly need an introduction, which makes ArteNOM’s selection from the famed distillery all the more exciting. Referred to as a “blanco histórico,” this expression is rested in a barrel for up to 28 days as high-end blanco tequilas from Tequilla Valley were sometimes prepared in the early 1900s. For this bottling, the tequila is rested in ex–brandy casks previously used to mature Don Amado Mezcal Reposado in Oaxaca, providing warm baking spice and additional earthy minerality.
