"A dark, inky wine, the 2022 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard is perfect in its bouquet of herbal, fruity, epic perfume alone. On the palate, there™s grip and tension, allowing just enough crisp, high-toned red fruit to surface and speak. The wine is fresh and buoyant beyond measure, finishing in a heartbreakingly beautiful array of white and black pepper that will stay with you for days. Though it will be hard to hold onto for long, the wine will age with ease another 20-30 years."

"Bold and mineral-driven, this syrah shows a striking mix of cracked pepper, dried thyme and graphite, underpinned by ripe blackberries and smoked ham. The midpalate feels supple with layers of dark fruit yet is framed with firm, lightly chewy tannins. The structure leads to a deeply earthy, saline-tinged finish that lingers with hints of iodine and iron. From biodynamically grown grapes. Best after 2029."

"Airy and highly aromatic, the 2022 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard bursts from the glass with a perfumed blend of dried violets, lavender, camphor, cedar shavings, dusty earth and exotic spice. It envelops the palate with a savory wave of red and black fruits, taking on a crunchy mineral character as nuances of rosemary and sage swirl throughout. The 2022 tapers off with medium length and a pleasantly chewy texture, leaving a savory tart blackberry tinge."

"Black currants and orange zest complement the meaty aroma of a Wagyu tomahawk grilling over a wood fire. Flavors of blackberries, dark plums, oregano and thyme are supported by brawny tannins and lemony acidity: Musclé et sauvage. Editors™ Choice. "M.A."

"Grown in a vineyard where rocky soil alternates with ribbons of more fertile topsoil, the wine exudes hickory-smoked bacon, singed herb and pepper aromas before deep blackberry, beef jus and grilled plum flavors coat the palate. It™s moderately tannic, medium-bodied and long on the finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Best from 2028."

"Redcurrants, smoky black cherries, ground pepper, leafy underbrush, and bloody, incredibly meaty nuances all emerge from the 2021 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard, a classic Syrah from this region that's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. As with the other Syrahs in the lineup, it needs 2-4 years of bottle age and will see its 20th birthday in fine form."

"Instantly impressive in the glass, the 2021 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard presents dark, firm and savory notes that sway with elements of roasted espresso beans. It's bold, juicy and food friendly, with a medium body that grows in complexity across the palate, offering incredible depth and precision. The wine offers notes of spiced plum compote, black raspberry jus and meaty and savory flavors, leading to a long, lingering, ever-evolving finish. This Syrah is one to buy! You'll likely want to decant this beauty and let it rest for an hour before consuming it. The wine aged for 15 months in neutral demi-muids and foudre. Just over 5,000 bottles were produced."

"The 2021 Syrah High Contrast Vineyard is explosive, with an intense bouquet of incense, lavender, cedar shavings, dried orange peels and red plums. Nearly creamy in feel, this possesses a core of cooling acidity that lifts the experience. Ripe wild berry fruits contrasted by a savory herbal thrust swirl throughout the glass. Saline minerals emerge toward the close as the 2021 finishes spicy with a mouth-watering quality that nicely offsets its edgy tannins."

"Distinctive and deeply structured but light on its feet, with black olive, bacon fat, blackberry and smoky cracked pepper flavors that build richness and tension toward broad-shouldered tannins. Drink now through 2035. From Washington."T.F."
