• Limited edition single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Lochlea [lock•LEE] in South Ayrshire (Lowlands)
• Third and final release of “Fallow Edition”, one of four expressions in Lochlea’s annual, seasonal single malt series
• Produced from 100% malted barley grown on the Lochlea farm
• Fermented in Douglas fir washbacks
• Twice distilled on bespoke Forsyths copper pot stills
• Aged in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts; non-age statement
• A striking, rich amber color in the glass, Fallow Edition opens with notes of poached and fresh apple on the nose enhanced by bright red berries, fennel, gooey medjool dates, and salty hay. The palate is packed with nutty cereal notes and honey, evolving into freshly baked pumpernickel bread. The finish is long and oily with prickles of peppercorn spice.

Given Lochlea’s plans to unveil a core range of age-stated whiskeys in 2026, this year’s Fallow Edition will be the last, taking its place in the final set of the distillery’s annual, seasonally attuned, non-age-stated whiskies. Matured solely in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, it’s an elegantly crafted malt that showcases the ample richness of Lochlea’s homegrown barley. Rich, figgy, and emphatically grain-forward, it’s an eminently autumnal dram that brims with hearth-warmed flavors—an unsurprisingly delicious send-off!
