"In the glass, the 2022 Rapace has a medium red hue and is based on roughly 70% Sangiovese with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from a half-hectare site. The nose is darker and more generous, yet it stays fresh, with ripe fruit and savory tones that feel beautifully grounded. The palate is supple and polished, with refined tannins and refreshing acidity that really impresses, and it™s a strong showing for this cuvée in 2022. Drink 2026-2036."

"Red berry, toasted almond and dried rosemary aromas. The palate is plush and juicy, with fine-grained tannins and a fleshy character that persists through the finish. Already drinkable, but sure to gain complexity over time."

"The Uccelliera 2022 Rapace (with 11,000 bottles and 500 magnums made) is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers a velvety and sunny Tuscan expression. Ripe blackberry and dark plum lead the bouquet, supported by sweet earth and a medium-rich texture. While intentionally simple in style, the inclusion of the French varieties lends a playful sense of individuality in a region dominated by Sangiovese. Sourced from Castelnuovo dell™Abate, the wine finishes with grippy tannins that give it structure and food-pairing appeal at an accessible price point."

"A bright and juicy but structured red that shows both vivid fruit and a firm tannic backbone. Medium-bodied, polished and even, with notes of red berries, walnuts and spices and a mineral aftertaste. Drink or hold."

"The 2021 Rapace is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Production is 10,800 bottles and 500 magnums. This wine is light on its feet with bright fruit, redcurrant and fresh plum. There is a hint of toasted wood that cedes to spicy cinnamon. Rapace is medium-bodied and easy to pair with your favorite pasta or grilled meat dishes. However, the alcohol content is on the strong side, measured at 15%."

"This is broad and ripe, delivering plum, cherry, leather, iron and eucalyptus flavors. Fresh and persistent, with a wall of burly tannins shoring up the finish. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2040. 800 cases made, 400 cases imported."

"The Uccelliera 2020 Rapace is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon that opens to autumnal aromas of earth and dry leaf. The blend is predominately Sangiovese, and those earthy notes underline the intensity of the dominant grape in the blend. Beyond that, you get iris root, blackcurrant, sour plum and a hint of roasted bell pepper. You definitely recognize the wine's Montalcino DNA, but the mouthfeel is broader and richer thanks to the two French grapes. The tannins are powdery on this release of 10,330 bottles (with larger formats also made)."
