- The nose offers ample grain freshened by citrus zest, Granny Smith apple slices, and a current of clove. On the palate, sweet malty cereal notes lead to varied orchard fruits dressed in honey and light brown sugar. The finish is lasting and dry, with milk chocolate lengthened by oak spice.
- No added coloring
- Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 59.7% ABV
A distilling giant producing more than 9 million liters of spirit per year for the blends (Cutty Sark, Label 5) of owner La Martiniquaise, mighty Speysider Glen Moray somehow maintains best-kept secret status, even while releasing a modest (but award-winning) selection of single malt under its own marque. This single barrel of cask-strength malt—selected and bottled by Single Cask Nation—sets itself apart by adding an exuberant punch of proof to the distillery’s polished, fruit-forward style while still preserving the sumptuousness of first-fill bourbon maturation.
