Costabate Toscana IGT

Costabate Toscana IGT Uccelliera wood

I belong to a large family and have been chosen because I am large;
Rooted on the slopes of Castelnuovo dell’Abate
With my head in the air and my feet grounded in the earth,
Colored by rays of the sun and polished by caresses of the wind.
Time has refined my allure.
I sailed for a long journey in the silence,
Rested in precious wood casks and finally dressed up for our celebration.

"Produced only in magnum and drawn equally from the lower, mid, and high elevations of the estate, the 2019 Sangiovese Costabate is made only in select vintages and was first produced in 2009 in small quantities. A medium red hue introduces a wine that™s deeply intense and tightly framed at this stage, with aromas of cedar, sanguine earth, resinous herbs, and a profoundly salty, wild Mediterranean character. The palate is full-bodied and meditative, with youthful tannins, terrific depth, and a nervous tension that keeps it lively all the way through the finish. It™s going to warrant a few more years in bottle and should drink beautifully over the following two decades. It™s the first magnum Uccelliera produced, designed to share with a crowd. Drink 2027-2047."
