"This opens up with a concentrated nose reminiscent of bark, dark plums and a touch of licorice. The palate is full-bodied and firm, showing plush tannins and an underlying vibrancy that follows through to a tightly wound finish with a hint of dark cherries. From organically grown grapes. Better from 2026."

"Collosorbo's 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva reveals a nearly opaque purple color in the glass, and it has a forward nose of smoky incense, cedar, blackberries, anise, and lavender. Rounded and full-bodied, it fills the palate with a glossy texture, supple tannins, and a ripe finish with notes of tea leaf. It's an opulent wine but handles it very well, and it has a lot to offer over the next 8-10 years."

"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is earthy in the glass, with a rich mix of crushed black cherries, sage, sweet spices and smoke. It displays silky textures and radiant red berry aromas. A tactile mineral tinge slowly settles in under an air of savory herbs. Its tannins penetrate deeply, finishing long and staining yet still nicely balanced, with a pleasantly bitter sensation and lingering violet inner florals."

"Camphor, lavender, eucalyptus and ripe black plum aromas mingle with dark spice on the 2019 Brunello Riserva from Collosorbo. Full-bodied and concentrated, the rich palate offers black cherry extract, licorice and nutmeg before closing on a note of bitter almond and the warmth of alcohol. Tightly woven tannins provide velvety support. Drink 2026"2034. Abv: 15% Kerin O™Keefe April 2025"

"Maturing ruby with orange tinges. Quiet a thick, rich nose with hints of dried fruit. Already developing. Lashings of rich but not overtly sweet fruit matched by a layer of grainy tannins. A tiny bit of heat on the finish. Fully ready now. (WS)"

"Very clean, sweet and long, this highly polished velvety Brunello Riserva offers plenty of coffee and sweet red fruit flavours that linger nicely. About the only quibble I have is that it struck me as slightly highish in alcohol, but to be clear, this is one of the best 2018 Brunello Riservas, in a year where there weren™t too many exciting Riservas made. Drinking window: 2028-2037."

"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is dark and earthy with a musky blend of dried blackberries and savory herbs. This soothes with its soft textures and juicy acidity as ripe red fruits swirl throughout. It finishes short and tannic yet maintains an admirable freshness. This is certainly a case where I prefer the Brunello over the Riserva."
