Barrell’s Batch #35 Bourbon is a multi-mash-bill blend built around a base of spicy, high-proof, 6- and 7-year-old barrels and softer, lower-proof 8-year-old barrels. After mingling for two months, 13-year-old barrels with notes of dried, tropical fruit were layered into the blend resulting in a bourbon that is peppery and intriguing on the nose, and sweet and long on the finish.

"Barrell Bourbon Batch 35 provides plenty to be fascinated with, particularly a trifecta of pepper, salinity, and sweetness in the mouth. As with previous high-quality releases, the flavors eventually come together in some impressive harmony, especially after a couple drops of water. (Hint hint.)"

"The nose is fragrant with strawberry jam and strawberries and cream, but this fruitiness is tempered wonderfully by worn leather, a puff of tobacco smoke, and cinnamon spice. On the palate there's more baking spice, cinnamon bun, and a hot rush of Big Red gum. These flavors are joined by darker notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and flourless chocolate cake. Rich chocolate syrup ties it all up with the neatest of bows."

"This is a mix of straight bourbons from Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, ranging in age from six to 13 years old. The end result is a mix of rich caramel and toffee on nose and palate. Each sip opens relatively dry, with oak and hints of espresso and dark chocolate, but finishes long and luxe, showing mocha tinged with hazelnut and a final burst of fiery ginger heat."
