New To Skurnik in California: September 2025

SKURNIK WELCOMES THREE NEW PRODUCERS TO OUR CALIFORNIA PORTFOLIO

We are proud to announce that Skurnik Wines & Spirits is expanding our California portfolio with three remarkable additions: O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery, Castle & Key Distillery, and Grounded Wine Co. Each represents a unique vision, rooted in heritage, craft, and innovation, and we are excited to share their stories with our partners across California.

O’SHAUGHNESSY ESTATE WINERY

New To Skurnik in California, September 2025

Founded by Betty O’Shaughnessy Woolls and guided by winemaker Sean Capiaux, O’Shaughnessy crafts world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa’s most renowned mountain vineyards on Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, and Oakville. Known for their power, elegance, and sense of place, these wines are produced with minimal intervention to allow each site to speak clearly. With holdings across three celebrated AVAs, O’Shaughnessy has become a benchmark for terroir-driven Napa Valley Cabernet.

CASTLE & KEY DISTILLERY

New To Skurnik in California, September 2025 1

Once abandoned for decades, the historic Old Taylor Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, has been restored and reimagined as Castle & Key. Built in 1887 by Col. E.H. Taylor, this castle-like distillery was once the showpiece of American bourbon. Today, Castle & Key brings that heritage into the present, producing small-batch bourbon, rye, and seasonal gins that balance tradition with innovation. Their commitment to transparency and craft has quickly made them one of the most exciting distilleries in Kentucky.

GROUNDED WINE CO.

New To Skurnik in California, September 2025 2

Founded in 2018 by Josh Phelps, son of winemaker Chris Phelps (Dominus, Caymus), Grounded Wine Co. embodies a new generation of California winemaking—authentic, approachable, and rooted in place. Working with sustainably farmed vineyards across California’s North and Central Coast, Josh and his team craft wines that are honest, balanced, and expressive. Recognized by ForbesZagat, and Wine Enthusiast as a rising star, Phelps has quickly grown Grounded into one of the country’s most dynamic young wine companies.

AVAILABLE NOW IN CALIFORNIA

These three producers bring bold new perspectives to our portfolio—from mountain-grown Napa Cabernet to Kentucky bourbon heritage to the next generation of California wine. We are thrilled to offer them to our buyers, retailers, and restaurant partners across the state.
