“7.5-year-old bourbon distilled using 70% corn (Hickory King heirloom corn to be exact…very cool), 20% rye, and 10% malted barley, clocking in at a proof of 109.6, which is very high for McKenzie since they barrel at 100 proof. This barrel lays down baseline aromas of cherry cola, Big Red chewing gum and allspice. On the palate, all these flavors carry through, lifted by orange zest and dried leaves.
