• Limited edition single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Lochlea [lock•LEE] in South Ayrshire (Lowlands)
• Third and final release of “Harvest Edition,” one of four expressions in Lochlea’s annual, seasonal single malt series
• Produced from 100% malted barley grown on the Lochlea farm
• Fermented in Douglas fir washbacks
• Twice distilled on bespoke Forsyths copper pot stills
• Aged for a minimum of 5 years in refill bourbon barrels, port hogsheads, and Oloroso sherry butts; final blend is a vatting of these 3 cask types; non-age statement
• The nose opens with rich notes of jammy red berries and sweet cream, which develop a confectionary-dairy note of white chocolate on the palate before fully evolving into the broad, warmly satisfying fruit and cereal notes of freshly baked apple pie. The finish is balanced and lengthy, sustained by prickly notes of black peppercorn.

Celebrating the bounty of late summer, the Lochlea’s Harvest expression has always been emphatically fruit-forward and packed with fresh cereal sensations from the distillery’s homegrown barley. This year’s iteration—characterized by the producer as “a delicious dessert dram”—takes the house approach to its younger whiskies (long fermentations, slow distillations), complements it with maturation in a trio of bourbon, port, and sherry casks, and seals the stylistic deal with an extra year of age. Rich and satisfying, it’s a fitting tribute to the loveliest season in the county that poet Robert Burns once called home.
