R.D.R. Sweet Thumped Rye Whiskey

• Single barrel straight rye whiskey produced by Neeley Family Distillery in Sparta, Kentucky
• Distilled from a mash bill of 65% rye, 30% corn, and 5% malted barley
• Open-top, sweet mash fermented in cypress vats using wild Appalachian yeast
• Triple distilled in copper pot stills; the third distillation is run through a copper thumper
• Aged 3–7 years (age may vary cask to cask)
• Toasted caraway, butterscotch, warm cornbread, and Chantilly cream on the nose precede a silky palate of sweet cinnamon spice, dried apricot, chocolate wafer, and a long rye-bread finish
• Gold medalist at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
• Non-chill filtered, bottled at a cask strength of 55.3% ABV (ABV may vary cask to cask)

Neeley Family Distillery’s R.D.R. Sweet Thumped Rye—named after Master Distiller Royce Neeley—is a Kentucky style rye whiskey made the traditional Neeley way. Triple distilled in copper pot stills at 150 degrees Fahrenheit, the third distillation is run through a copper thumper charged with unfermented sweet mash which both softens the bite of the spirit and draws out sweeter notes from the rye grain.
