"Rose petals, wild strawberries, red tea, licorice and hints of cinnamon stick on the nose. Peach skins, pink peppercorns and negroni, too. It,s vibrant and pure with beautiful pink fruit, accompanied by tight, sleek tannins. So elegant, silky and fresh. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

"Spirited yet brooding and tightly focused, this red offers a narrow beam of blackberry, bacon fat, black olive and stony mineral flavors that build toward firm tannins. Drink now through 2032."

"White pepper spice explodes on the nose of the 2022 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard, a medium-bodied wine aged 15 months in neutral French oak that's feral on the palate in sanguine meat and earthiness. Supple texture and an ethereal quality make it nearly Pinot Noir-esque in character, while showing the appellation's particular propensity for growing superb Grenache. Age another 10-12 years."

"Intense and persistent, this grenache bursts with wild aromas of crushed raspberries, chilies and dried rose petals. Sichuan peppercorns and blood oranges are laced with hints of dried mint leaves and smoked sea salt. The medium- to full-bodied palate is tense and bold with gripping spices, firm tannins and a long, tight and chalky finish. Vivid and untamed. Around 70% whole-cluster fermentation. From biodynamically grown grapes. Try after 2028."

"This offers such a pretty nose, beginning with a combination of boysenberries and sourdough bread. There's also a slightly sweet and earthy note of hay, which is perfect for a wine named Horsepower. A bowl of black cherries unites in pleasing fashion with savory flavors of grilled brats and sencha green tea. —M.A."

"Understated in the glass, the 2022 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard wafts up with hints of incense, crushed rocks, sage and blood orange. It is round and supple with rose-infused red berry fruits and herbal tones that sweep across the palate, all guided by brisk acidity. This resonates with citrus and tart wild berries, tapering off with dramatic length and an air of violet pastille that lingers impossibly long."

"Savory and supple, with nuanced flavors of raspberry and cherry laced with bacon fat, garrigue, black olive and crushed stone notes that build richness toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2035. From Washington. —T.F."

"Initially impressive in the glass with bright red-fruited aromas of spiced cherry compote, sour plum skin, dusty red flowers and notes of scorched earth, the 2022 Grenache Sur Echalas Vineyard is fresh, spicy and complex. Medium to full-bodied, the fruit takes a back seat as a crunchy mineral tension grips the mid-palate, showing charred flavors of grilled cherries and fire-roasted cranberries. The wine slides to a mineral-driven expression with gripping tannins and ends with a slightly ashy finish that leaves me searching for fruit expression. Perhaps it will get better with time; we'll see. It's ultimately the finish and aftertaste that have me concerned. The Grenache aged 15 months in French oak. Only 3,408 bottles were produced."
