"The Cottanera 2023 Etna Rosso is a simple but well-executed expression of Nerello Mascalese sourced from the four contrade of Feudo di Mezzo, Cottanera, Zottorinoto and Diciassettesalme. Aged for 12 months in stainless steel, it follows the classic Etna playlist, with white pepper, good sharpness and appropriately measured intensity for this price point."

"A vivid, crunchy and vibrant red with cherries, wild herbs and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Velvety with plenty of liveliness on the mid-palate. Flavorful and precise. Drink now."

"The Cottanera 2024 Etna Rosso is a blend of Nerello Mascalese from the Contrade Feudo di Mezzo, Cottanera, Diciassettesalme and Zottorinoto. Fermentation and a light, warm maceration lasted 15 to 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12 months of aging in stainless steel. The wine captures the freshness and characteristic spiciness of Nerello Mascalese in a clean, direct style."

"The 2024 Etna Rosso offers sweet lavender and nuances of sage before giving way to crushed blackberries and tangerine zest. The palate is soothingly round and pliant, with mineral-inflected wild berry fruits and a lovely lift from cooling acidity. The long, gently tannic conclusion leaves violet inner florals and wild blueberry fruit. There's simply so much pleasure to be found here."

"Attractive nose, offering wet stones, smoked herbs, dried orange peel and ripe berries. Textured and refined, with medium body and well-integrated tannins. Fresh and poised and very attractive overall. Drink now or hold."

"Here's a wine I have not seen in a few years. The Cottanera 2022 Etna Rosso delivers bright fruit aromas of redcurrant, cherry and pomegranate seed. There is a pretty tartness at the back that adds to the wine's firmness and length. This Etna red is accessible and ready to drink, but it has enough textural strength to pair with breaded veal cutlets or deep-fried chicken."

"The 2022 Etna Rosso opens with a woodsy blend of savory herbs, underbrush and red licorice. There™s a lovely inner sweetness here, with crisp red and blue fruits that swirl across a stream of zesty acidity. The 2022 lingers long yet remains remarkably fresh, finishing with a note of tart blackberry."
