"This graceful white shows precision balance and a sense of finesse. Long and satiny on the palate, with vibrant, fine china"like acidity acting as a springboard for layered flavors of nectarine, yellow plum and persimmon fruit, plus lemon oil, minerally salt and stone notes. Offers hints of mountain herbs and white pepper. Though hard to stop sipping today, this should also be a showstopper with cellaring. Drink now through 2044."A.N."

"The phenolic tension and focus spreads on and on across the integrated palate. Medium- to full-bodied, this is flavorful with sliced apples and light pie-crust. Fermented and aged in a 10-hectoliter cask. Great finish. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Etna Bianco Calderara Sottana is rich and highly aromatic, with a bouquet of crushed hazelnut, almond custard, yellow flowers and dried apricot. It envelops the palate with salty minerals and tart orchard fruits offset by a tinge of brisk acidity and sour citrus tones. Lightly structured and full of tension, the 2023 lingers long with nuances of lemon peel and minty herbs on the finish."

"This vibrant, harmonious white deftly integrates a crackling line of chiseled acidity while keeping its austerity nicely in check. Boasts a finely meshed range of persimmon, pomelo, mountain herb and mineral notes that expand on the racy, lightly spiced finish. Drink now through 2035. "A.N."

"Made with 100% Carricante, this 7,000-bottle release is fermented in barrique and aged in French oak for nine months. The organic Tenuta delle Terre Nere 2023 Etna Bianco Calderara Sottana is extremely pretty and bright with tightrope aromas of crushed mineral, white citrus and unripe peach. However, the wine has the textural strength and depth to pair with shellfish or white meat. A slat-baked whole fish with fresh herbs comes to mind."
