Wheated Bourbon Whiskey, 'Experimental Cask Finish - Spanish Brandy Cask'

• Limited edition brandy cask-finished wheated straight bourbon whiskey produced by Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky

• Mash bill of 73% white corn, 17% malted barley, and 10% wheat
• Sweet mash fermented
• Water for production comes from Castle & Key’s historic key-shaped limestone spring
• Distilled in 24-inch and 36-inch Vendome copper column stills and a 375-gallon doubler
• Aged a minimum of 7 years; at least 5 years and 7 months in char #3 new American oak barrels; finished 15 months in brandy casks from an undisclosed Spanish distillery
• A fleeting note of wine quickly becomes citrus, buttercream, almond, and baked pear with light accents of nutmeg and cocoa. The palate offers buttery pastry, plenty of vanilla, plus raisins and candied pecans along with high-toned spice notes. The finish is long, balancing honey and cigar leaf with a whiff of salinity.

Barrel finish returns as the theme for this 2026 release, which pairs Castle & Key’s sensuously confectionary wheated bourbon with 15 months of finishing in an ex-Spanish brandy cask.
