Tasting Notes
This vintage was marked by hot, dry conditions, especially in the summer, leading to earlier ripening and an early start to the harvest. It was especially beneficial for Pinot Noir rosés, enhancing the fresh fruit flavors that balance out the higher levels of acidity at the time of harvest. Clean, ripe fruit was easy to come by, in general, though total yields remained relatively small due to drought stress. Slightly longer macerations built up the body of the wine without overly extracting the tannic components of the pips and skins before fermentation took off. This vintage gave us a great rosé of character and vibrancy.
Bright, refreshing, and fruit driven rosé with strawberry, raspberry, citrus and melon character. The palate shows ripe red fruit and lively acidity. The finish is mineral and generous. This vintage reflects the steady heat through the summer that led to excellent ripeness in an early harvest. The wine is perfect for warm weather sipping and versatile food pairings from fresh fruit and brie to grilled salmon and vegetables.
