Driving this whiskey are darker flavor tones, plus well-incorporated but lip-tingling proof. The nose opens with a rickhouse-y whiff of wet barrel, followed by New Orleans pralines, heavy on the pecans. The palate is generous, medium-to-heavy in body, incorporating notes of milk chocolate, roasted parsnip, boiled peanuts, and malty grain with accents of coffee beans and sassafras. The finish is long and driving, a balancing act between body and proof.
