"Bright and shining ruby, showing aromas of wild strawberries, almond paste and smoky minerality. It is firm on the palate, with the dusty texture of nerello mascalese grapes, but also with quite a full body. Sternness on the finish is balanced by crisp acidity. Will soften with four to five years of aging."

"Blue flower, Mediterranean scrub, red berry and a strong whiff of the sea form the nose on the 2022 Passorosso. On the full-bodied palate, taut, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity accompany tart cherry, cranberry, blood orange, white pepper and star anise before a saline, almost salty finish. Drink 2026"2032."

"The 2022 Passorosso is spicy in the glass with an herbal thrust up front, giving way to ginger-tinged dried cherries and dusty sage. This is silky-smooth with ripe red and hints of blue fruit. Brisk acidity motivates the mouthfeel as the 2022 takes on a salty savoriness toward the close. It finishes with outstanding length and concentration, leaving a coating of fine tannins and a resonance of licorice on the close. This is far from your average Etna Rosso, with nearly 50% of the fruit hailing from Contrada Guardiola."

"Passorosso is a blend of fruit from the winery's various contrada sites, Crunchy, herbal and slightly smoky red berry aromas are followed by a ripe, sweet red-fruited palate full of balsamic intrigue and subtle stoniness. Bright strawberry, cherry and raspberry are supported by tight, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity, ending with a succulent finish. Yum!"

"Lustrous mid ruby. A raspberry nose with hints of garrigue and stones. Succulent and fluid and with fine gritty tannins and a hint of tar, showing this is already progressing a little, but should deliver great pleasure over the next five years. (WS) 14.5%"
