"The 2024 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo opens with an expressive bouquet of split pine, dusty sage, incense and mentholated blackberries. The palate boasts velvety textures and notable weight as a core of brisk acidity supports its tart wild berry fruit. The finish is long, spicy and fresh with edgy tannins and a subtle balsamic inflection. This is so elegant."

"Tasted next to the San Lorenzo from Terre Nere, the Bella-Colonna 2024 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo is slightly more restrained at the start. It opens gradually to blackberry and peppery spice, with soft fruit weight and equally silky tannins. The winemaking is the same, although the blend will change in 2025 with the addition of Nerello Mantellato, a softer variety that may also be used in the Etna Rosso and possibly the Calderara Sottana."
