"The 2022 Metodo Classico Nerello Mascalese Brut Rose is peachy and fresh with notes of strawberries, fresh flowers, powdery chalky earth, white grapefruit, and bread dough. Medium-bodied, it™s elegant, fresh, and pretty, with a clean, stony finish. Drink over the next few years " it™s highly versatile and another stellar value."

"The Scammacca del Murgo family has been making traditional-method sparkling wines from Mt. Etna™s native nerello mascalese since 1990. Their rosé, which gains its delicate salmon color from direct press of the red grapes, rested for three years in bottle on the lees, developing toasty notes that complement the wine™s flavors of tart cherry, cranberry and blood orange. Lingering saline notes point to the wine™s volcanic origin, and it finishes clean and bright, ready for a range of seafood or salty appetizers."

"The 2020 Metodo Classico Brut Rosš (made with Nerello Mascalese from the 26-hectare Tenuta San Michele) shows a jump in intensity and clarity in this vintage with soft aromas of cassis, pink grapefruit, flint and volcanic ash. It is distinguished by a medium pink color and lasting beading. There is natural spice and wild cherry as well. It sees 18 months on the lees, and 30,000 bottles were made."

"Crushed rocks, curry leaves and mint give way to dried strawberries as the 2021 Brut Rosé Metodo Classico slowly blossoms in the glass. Silky and enveloping, it quickly gains contrast through a saturation of salty minerals as nectarine notes swirl throughout. The 2021 leaves a salty flourish to linger, finishing with medium length and a green apple crunch. I love the complexity within this truly engaging Nerello Mascalese sparkler."
