"The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a bright lime cordial-scented bouquet that certainly lacks some bandwidth, though unlike others there is no reduction here. As someone else in the room mentioned, it smells more like a Clare Valley Riesling! The palate is clean and fresh with a fine bead of acidity. There is more complexity on the mid-palate with nuanced stem ginger notes coming through, intermixed with orange peel and mandarin. A pleasing spiciness lingers on the finish, but it seems to degrade in the glass and become quite facile. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting."
