Maybe no one is more Montalcino than Enzo Tiezzi – his graduate thesis laid the groundwork for the Rosso di Montalcino DOC. Since 1989 he has produced traditional, rich and rustic expressions from his 10 ha. in In Cerrino, Cigaleta, San Carlo and Soccorso vineyards just outside the old city center.

Founded in 1986 by Andrea Cortonesi, this estate was once part of Ciacci Piccolomini, where Andrea worked as cellarmaster. The soil here in Castelnuovo dell’Abate is loose, stony, and iron-rich, and the microclimate warm, giving the highly coveted wines of Uccelliera a rich and ripe expression.
