The true beginning of Harlan Estate dates to 1984 in the western hills of Oakville, California, the heart of Napa Valley. The Harlan family had a plan to create a California equivalent of a Bordeaux first growth, producing a wine that would command global praise.
Hendry Vineyards, established in 1939 by George and Margaret Hendry, spans 203 acres in Napa Valley. Although Heron does not own any vineyards, Laely Heron only works with vineyards that are certified or managed organically, biodynamically, or sustainably. Most of the vineyards are dry-farmed, old-vine, marine-influenced parcels. Laely believes that delicious wines should be an unalienable right and she seeks out the best parcels to demonstrate this. Laely is a natural-born traveler, studied winemaking in Bordeaux and learned about restaurants and importing in Denmark. She brings this vast international experience to her winemaking expertise at Heron Wines, presenting a collection of value wines.

Jax Vineyards, a family-owned winery in Calistoga, Napa Valley, was founded in 1996 by David Jackson and his son Trent, with Trent's sister Kimberly and collaborates with renowned winemaker Kirk Venge. Everything produced by JAX is hand-harvested, family-owned, and earth-friendly.
Joseph Swan valued small-scale winemaking. In 1967, he bought 13 acres of Zin vines in Russian River Valley. Urged by Andre Tchelistcheff, he replanted to Chardonnay and Pinot. Despite no training, his wines gained fame, marked by the Swan Clone. Since 1988, Lynn and Rod Berglund continue his legacy
