"Very fresh, floral and charming aromas, then good, deep and flavor-packed on the palate. Moderate tannins and a technically full body support wonderful rose petals, violets, blackberries and orange zest. Good acidity gives a vibrancy and life that's so attractive. Drink now or hold."

"The 2023 Zinfandel Monte Rosso comes from Zinfandel vines planted in iron-rich soils prior to 1900. It has open-knit, inviting aromas of dark cherries and currants, cracked pepper, cast iron, Cointreau, thyme and violets. The full-bodied palate pairs concentrated, mineral-driven flavors with fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity, and it has a long, latent finish. It will be long lived in the cellar."

"The 2023 Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard comes across as quite subdued in this vintage. Almost pure Zinfandel, the 2023 is a lighter wine than usual, as one of Bedrock's two parcels here is north-facing, which was not helpful in this cold, late-ripening year."

"Broad-shouldered and brooding, with concentrated flavors of dark cherry and red currant highlighted by dark chocolate, earthy iron and briar patch tones as this gathers tension and tannins on the finish. 250 cases made. - TF"

"The 2022 Zinfandel Monte Rosso shows why this site is so magical. The aromatics alone are beguiling. On the palate, the wine is a bit taut and edgy, but all the elements are there. This is all class, all the way."
