"Made in 2013 for the first time, the 2019 Wachenheim Riesling R was aged on the full lees for four years and opens with a clear and intense bouquet of ripe and concentrated stone fruit notes intermingled with yeasty notes. Refined and elegant on the palate, this is a complex but fresh and rather light to medium-bodied but quite complex and textural Wachenheim Riesling with a long, saline and finely tannic finish. Tasted in the Nobelhart & Schmutzig restaurant in Berlin, February 2024."

"Mellow and calm, with very striking interplay of smoky lees character with candied peach and orange flavors. Wonderful textural complexity through the long, powerful finish. "The 2020 Wachenheim R Riesling trocken opens with a deep, clear, intense and complex, lemony and saline bouquet that indicates first maturity. Full-bodied, tight and intense on the palate, this is a juicy and saline Riesling that is quite powerful and tannic and fruitier, rounder and juicier than the 2023 Wachenheimer Riesling. This is still young and asking for patience. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in January 2025."
