Tasting Notes
The grapes for The Pinot Project Pinot Grigio are harvested from the prestigious growing region of Veneto, Italy. The clay and limestone soils and temperate climate are ideal for producing wines with great natural acidity. After the grapes are crushed and skins are removed, the grape must settles and temperature-controlled fermentation occurs in stainless steel. The wine is completely unoaked to maintain freshness.
On the nose, this vintage shows candied lemon peel and vibrant pear aromas. The wine is round and ripe on the palate, balanced by medium-plus acidity. One can find notes of Granny Smith apple and lime followed by peaches on the finish. A testament to the quality of the growing season, there is a dry, crisp and lingering finish with flavor for days. Pair with seafood, pasta, light cheeses and, of course, friends and family. Great for weekends, nights, and times in between.
