"The 2018 Alto Adige Valle Isarco Kerner Praepositus is an edgy and offbeat expression with a fun blend of citrusy primary fruit and some distant petrol or jet fuel at the back. Fermentation and aging all take place in stainless steel, and the fruit is drawn from a site located very high up in the mountains at 750 meters above sea level. The wine's mineral signature is very strong, and you are left with a pretty dusting of chalk and flint, with grapefruit, mango and nectarine. Production is 30,000 bottles."

"The 2018 Kerner Praepositus is intensely perfumed and even a bit spicy in the glass, showing zested lemon with yellow flowers, hints of ginger, white smoke and sour melon. Soft textures soothe the senses, giving way to ripe orchard fruits with a citrus and mineral twang that slices through its otherwise rich persona to result in a wonderfully pure and clean expression. Inner florals resonate for well over a minute, along with a lasting note of bitter granny smith apple and lime. The Praepositus line is a selection of what Abbazia di Novacella considers their best fruit from each harvest, vinified all in stainless steel."
