"The Peay West Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a true panoramic view of the estate™s terroir and the vintage. Sourced mainly from Peay™s estate blocks, with just 5% coming from the slightly warmer Richardson Vineyard next door, this is the winery™s biggest-production Pinot - though at 1,500 cases, it™s still far from mass-produced. The 2022 vintage is a wine with energy and depth, which is classic Peay, delivering a nose that balances delicate florals and bright red berries with a whisper of coastal salinity. The palate is full of tart red fruit like cranberries and pomegranate, with some citrusy mid-palate reminiscent of blood oranges and a pinch of spice for good measure. The structure is firm yet graceful, carrying everything through to a pleasant finish."

"Soft and delicate aromas of wild raspberries, cinnamon bark, pine needles, pencil shavings and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and nervy acidity. Such great depth and structure, capturing the freshness and coolness of the vineyard. Drink or hold."

"The 2023 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is brilliant. Bold, racy and punchy, with terrific energy, the 2023 is a delight. Red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, mint and orange peel are all front and center. Clean mineral notes frame the long, nuanced finish. Most of this fruit is from the Peay estate. This mid-weight Pinot has a lot to offer."

"The West Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir from Peay is comprised of 81% Estate fruit. The rest comes from their neighbour, Richardson Vineyard, who grow fruit for some of the Peay wines and loan the Peays their sheep to manage weed management. The wine is extraordinary, given its youth. An earthen depth predominates the aromas, with candied red fruits and rose petals. The palate is lush and gorgeously textured with fleshy red fruits set against savoury clove and a concentrated minerality of crushed stone. Finishing with beguiling notes of wild anise and green tea leaf. An outstanding appellation bottling."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast is a ridiculously beautiful wine. Ripe candied fruit, lavender, rose petal, mint and sweet spice all soar out of the glass. This brilliant, transparent Pinot is long on class. Readers who want to understand the magic of the 2022 vintage will find much to admire here. This is a tremendous wine at the appellation level. The West Sonoma Coast Pinot is a blend of 13 clones from the Estate and the nearby Richardson vineyard. Dazzling."

"The bright red 2022 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast has lifted notes of alpine herbs, red berries, compact bright berries, bay leaf, and fresh roses. Medium-bodied, it offers a lovely amount of tension, with fantastic structure, a good amount of floral charm, and great potential for drinking over the next 7-8 years or more."

"The 2021 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast is delicately styled and pretty this vintage. It has a pale ruby-purple color and intense aromas of cranberry sauce, rhubarb and blueberry and accents of cinnamon stick, mossy bark and mushroom. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing with delicate, earth-laced fruit and a long, spicy finish."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is deep, fleshy and seductive‡in other words, everything a wine at this level should be. Crushed red/purplish berry fruit, spice, mint, new leather and cedar give the 2022 tons of aromatic nuance and complexity. What a delight."
