"The 2023 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard is another highlight in this range. Bold and savory, the 2023 captures the essence of this wild, evocative Fort Ross-Seaview site. Black cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, dried herbs and menthol explode from the glass, framed by potent tannins that pull it all together beautifully on the close."

"An alluring red, with smoldering black teak weaving around a core of gently mulled red and black cherry fruit. Seductive in feel, with a lingering sous-bois note chiming in amid the fruit. With its hint of maturity, this is totally ready now. Drink now through 2027. 170 cases made."

"Intense. Failla's 2022 Estate Pinot Noir is a brooding batch of dark savoury goodness. Pine tar and orange oil aromas weave together with notes of smoky clove, dark blackberries, and a salty note of smoked sea salt. This wine needs time to unwind and show its delicacy. On the palate, dark fruits, Chinese five spice and black tea, hibiscus and grilled blood orange. There's excellent mineral depth here, and notes of iron and ember linger long on the palate."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard is a huge, brooding wine. Black cherry, licorice, sage, menthol, pencil shavings and cloves add to the wine's virile, somber personality. Readers will find a meaty, savory Pinot Noir with strong Syrah-like leanings. Give the tannins a year or two to soften."
