1804 Original, Lemon Hart

1804 Original, Lemon Hart

Lemon Hart is a line of dark Demerara rums from Guyana. Lemon Hart takes its name from the 3rd generation merchant trader, Lehman Hart, who built his family’s brand into the first supplier of rum to the British Royal Navy. Distilled at Plantation Diamond (aka Demerara Distillers Limited, or DDL), the last remaining distillery in the country, Lemon Hart uses 100% molasses made from Demerara sugar grown on the equator and below sea level.

Tasting Notes

Lemon Hart Original 1804 is a  premium blend of select single estate rums, distilled, aged and blended on the East Bank of the Demerara River in the lush tropical Caribbean country of Guyana.  Original 1804 is the classic British-style black rum, cherished by rum drinkers around the world for its authentic flavor and full-bodied complexity.  Well-balanced, velvety smooth taste with complex notes of dark brown sugar and island spices (nutmeg, clove and cinnamon), vanilla bean, cocoa, dark honey, caramel and oak. Hints of English toffee, dried fruits (especially Sultana raisins, dates and apricots), dark bitter semi-sweet chocolate and a nice heavily steeped tea finish.
