"K”fererhof submits an excellent trio of white wines this year. There is a Pinot Grigio, a Sylvaner and this 2021 Alto Adige Valle Isarco Kerner. With 4,000 bottles released, the Kerner delivers tangy fruit with spicy aftertastes of crushed white pepper, saffron and wild sage. This makes sense since winemaking is mostly in stainless steel, with the warmer tones coming from 10% oak cask. Savory tones cede to crushed stone and flint. These cellar-worthy results come from high-elevation vineyards perched at an icy 850 meters above sea level. The wine ends with an interesting sweet versus salty dynamic."

"The 2022 Kerner is airy and fresh, with a perfumed blend of nectarines, wildflowers and wet stone. This balances a pleasant inner sweetness with crisp mineral tones and sour green melon, all guided by juicy acidity. It finishes remarkably fresh and long, with a staining of primary concentration and saline minerals that pinch at the cheeks. The 2022 turns the pleasure dial all the way up. Beautifully done."

"Incense and crushed flowers give way to freshly sliced nectarine and sweet smoke as the 2021 Kerner blossoms in the glass. The balance within is beautiful. A measured inner sweetness is contrasted by saline minerals and lime-tinged acidity, creating a push and pull of tension. This finishes remarkably juicy and crisp, slowly tapering off with lime and peach hints. This is an amazing value in Kerner."
