"Creamy apricot and cashew notes. Generous, lush and with weight but also lift and freshness. Good sense of tension, then finishes gently saline with firm acidity; a persistent, mineral finish. From a 0.18ha plot of 70-year-old Marsanne at the foot of the Hermitage slope. Malolactic is completed."

"Exotic red and black fruits, incense, leather, pepper, and cedary herb notes all emerge from Fayolle's 2021 Hermitage Les Diognières, a medium-bodied Hermitage that has plenty of ripe tannins, good overall balance, and outstanding length. It certainly plays in the fresher, elegant end of the spectrum but should still benefit from a few years of bottle age and have 10-12+ years of overall prime drinking. The Les Diognières lies on the eastern side of the appellation, lower down on the slope, similar to Les Greffieux with its deeper soils."
