"The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru has a mild-mannered bouquet that unfolds in the glass with pretty red berry fruit, sous-bois and more mineralité than its peers in this flight. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasing sharpness on the entry: blackcurrant and raspberry fruit, a touch of allspice with a sprinkling of white pepper on the finish. Good structure here, decent substance. Just afford this a couple of years in bottle and you should have a fine Gevrey in your possession. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting."
