Ruppertsberger Gaisböhl [Monopol]:
The Dr. Bürklin-Wolf estate is the sole (monopole) owner of this top-rated site in Ruppertsberg, which has a total extent of 8 ha, of which only 5,2 ha are classified as a G.C. site. The origin of this site goes back to the late medieval era. It was classified as a First Growth in terms of the Royal Bavarian Site Classification. It is located at the foot of the Mittelhaardt mountains, and benefits from an advantageous temperate microclimate. Deposits of gravel in terraces with layers of clay in the soil provide the Gaisböhl wine with its huge body and elegant acidity, the colored sandstone ensures a very long maturation potential.

"The enveloping nose of pineapple chutney, King Alphonso mango and coriander seed pulls you deep down into this rich and mysterious dry riesling. Enormous concentration at the very clean, harmonious and silky finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 Gaisböhl G.C. opens as delicate as a Brauneberger Mosel Riesling, but in fact, it's a Ruppertsberger. It's intense but super clear, refined and finely flinty on the nose, with some orange bitters and perfectly ripe apricot aromas. This nose is rather slatey in its finesse and iodine flavors, indeed. Round, refined and extremely mineral on the palate, this is a full-bodied yet elegant and highly finessed Riesling with an intense, minerally tensioned finish and dried apricot flavors. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023."

"The 2022 Riesling Ruppertsberger Gaisböhl Monopol G.C. is grown on weathered Triassic sandstone with clay-rich soils. Subtle reduction on the shy nose clouds gentle hints of tangerine. The palate is immediately juicy and salty at once, propelling forward with ripe citric intensity, making the mouth water, dancing polka rather than ballet, but dancing nonetheless. The 2022 is fresh, svelte, energetic, textured and pithy. (Bone-dry)"

"If you taste this quickly, you™ll love the ripe citrus fruit, including the peel, and the ample, beautifully rounded palate, but this has a crisp and dark side that gives it terrific tension. Super-long, flinty finish that takes your breath away. This has decades of life ahead of it. From biodynamically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink from release."

"The 2024 Riesling Ruppertsberger Gaisböhl Monopol G.C. is from a mix of richer clay on weathered sandstone. Gorgeous flint crackles on the nose, while ripe Amalfi lemon frames a beautiful peach aroma. This combination is luminous, reveling in its aromas while shining and dazzling with effortless ease. Everything rests on stone, striking a superb balance that finishes with lemon and salt. Bone-dry"

"The 2023 Gaisböhl G.C. opens with a deep, clear, fresh and almost earthy nose with wet clay and stone aromas. Full-bodied, round and savory on the palate, this is a generous, precise, saline and crunchy, finely tannic and powerful Riesling with a long, intense and forceful yet still refined and elegant finish. Impressive wine. 12.5% stated alcohol. Diam 30 cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2025."

"There,s a flinty quality to this rather young, but beautifully put-together white, which is framed by firm acidity, while displaying flavors of sea salt-accented smoke, quince, lemon curd, honeysuckle and wet stone. This is really centered around its minerality and texture, with all the other pieces just adding to the symphony. It is sleek and elegant and will only show its best in years to come. Best after 2026.‡ A.Z."
