"The deep ruby-hued 2023 Crozes-Hermitage Hauterives is a serious, structured wine in the vintage, and it's clearly outstanding. Ripe blackberries, framboise, crushed stone, leather, and spicy notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, concentrated, with ripe tannins and a great finish. Aged 11 months in concrete tanks, it has enough structure to warrant 2-3 years of bottle age. Drink 2027-2035."

"The nose is highly perfumed, offering fresh red apples, bramble fruit, tangerine, lavender, and rose. On the palate, vibrant freshness meets a delicate blend of violets and black olive tapenade. The mid-palate evolves to reveal soft plum, leading to a refined finish of pulverized stone, white tea, and clove. Serious and sophisticated, this wine should be a versatile gastronomic companion. "A prototypical Crozes-Hermitage. It has the smoke and pepper notes we associate with the best wines of this appellation. Ample fine tannins on the medium-bodied palate, then excellent depth in the plush and stony finish. Drink or hold."

"Coming from a blend of two separate terroirs and brought up all in concrete, the 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Hauterives is a gorgeous Crozes that readers will love. Black raspberries, sappy spring flowers, violets, and peppery bouquet garni-like nuances (fresh thyme) all emerge on the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with a solid spine of acidity and finely polished tannins. This beauty will evolve nicely for 7-8 years, if not over a decade."

"The 2021 Crozes-Hermitage Hauterives is also terrific, and this estate is well worth seeking out. Black raspberries, peppery herbs, spring flowers, and some obvious mineral notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a silky, layered, elegant mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. Bravo. It will evolve nicely through 2031."
